Pat Kirwan, a NFL.com Senior Analyst, offers his pick between quarterbacks Eli Manning and Tony Romo. Spoiler alert: He picks a split decision. I would pick Romo. At least, right here, right now, right this second. But something tells me, and I am not sure what tells me, that Eli Manning will be a great one. I remember reading Tom Callahan's book ("The GM: The Inside Story of a Dream Job and the Nightmares that Go with It" ) about Ernie Accorsi, the former general manager of the New York Giants. In the book, Archie Manning said he thinks this year (last season) would be Eli's break out year. He said it took Eli four years at Ole Miss (where he was red-shirted as a freshman) to figure it out and get the confidence needed. I think he's right. Once Tiki Barber left in retirement and Jeremy Shockey was injured and basically out of the locker room for the rest of the season, I think it actually became Eli's team. And then we saw him start to grow.
