The Green Bay Press Gazette reports: "Contrary to several well publicized media reports, two sources — one in the NFL, another close to (Brett) Favre — said Favre does not have a cell phone issued by the Packers." This is interesting news. The only question that remains is why it took so long for the "Friends of Favre" to acknowledge this? You would think the Packers would be denying they gave him a cell phone -- seeing it could violate the league's salary cap rules. You would think Favre would quickly deny that this wasn't true. And why wouldn't Brad Childress quickly deny talking to Favre?
