Most know that Ernie Davis died shortly after the Cleveland Browns drafted him in hopes of pairing Davis with another Syracuse great -- Jim Brown. Art Modell was so taken with Davis that he traded future Hall of Famer Bobby Mitchell for the rights to Davis. Davis died from leukemia on May 18, 1963. What most people forget is that Davis became the first African-American to win the Heisman Trophy. The movie of his run for the Heisman is planned for release in the fall. It's called "The Express." Here's the trailer for the movie.
