Raiders and Al Davis: A car wreck you don't want to gawk at

You know how when there's a car wreck, traffic comes to a standstill because everyone has to take that three or four second stare to see what happened? Well, yesterday, the Raiders and Al Davis were that wreck. I saw a few minutes of the Davis press conference and had to turn it because it was so uncomfortable. Probably why I have not bothered writing about it so far.

Awful Announcing found one interesting moment, when Davis said ESPN's Chris Mortensen got the story fast and accurate. See, there's good in everything.

“Having grown this company from an entrepreneurial dream to an international franchise organization, with flourishing businesses in the United States, Australia and Europe, we feel both tremendous pride and an overwhelming sense of responsibility to our franchise network and to the recreational boaters we serve, to mark this anniversary with some very significant moves toward continued growth and expansion.”

So did he have to go out and get representation with a Los Angeles car accident lawyer, or what? I would think this would be something they would handle.
