“The opera ain't over till the fat lady sings.”
Sports columnist and broadcaster Dan Cook, 81, died Thursday. He was best known for the saying: “The opera ain't over till the fat lady sings.” He is remembered by the San Antonio Express-News (where he spent 51 years) as one who interviewed "sports' greatest legends, from Joe Louis and Jack Dempsey to Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Paul “Bear” Bryant and Tom Landry." There's a nine-minute clip on YouTube of his last broadcast.
